Founder & Managing Principal
Ed Gomez is the founder and Managing Principal of Daedalus Group, LLC, established in 2019. Ed is a recognized authority in the patent monetization space, with decades of experience developing licensing programs, managing global enforcement campaigns, and building commercial frameworks around foundational patent rights.
Ed began his legal career at Pennie & Edmonds, one of the preeminent IP law firms of its era, where he became a partner specializing in patent litigation. Since departing in 2001, he has held senior roles across leading patent monetization organizations, including Altitude Capital Partners (Managing Director & General Counsel) and Walker Innovation (General Counsel & Chief Patent Counsel), where he oversaw evaluation, acquisition, and enforcement of large-scale patent portfolios.
Under his leadership, Daedalus Group has completed landmark acquisitions from entities both large and small: 1,000+ assets from IBM, 200+ from Intel (the first-ever Intel sale to an NPE), portfolios from GlobalFoundries, and Nyriad's breakthrough storage technology patents — which became the foundation of Daedalus Cloud, LLC.
